Each shade name includes:

• The general skin tone (ivory, beige or bronze).
• The undertone (C = cool, N = neutral or W = warm).
• The depth of the shade within the skin tone (the lowest number is the lightest and becomes darker as the number increases).

We employed our exclusive IntelliMatch™ Technology to capture the skin tones of over 1,000 women from around the world. This data helped us improve the authenticity of our foundation shades so that more women can find a seamless match to their unique skin tone.

Three key areas were scanned (forehead, cheek and décolleté) to capture over 3,000 variations of tone for more accurate data.
